Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of exercise with elastic bandage(EBST) and lumbar stabilization exercise(ST) on middle and high school baseball players¡¯ visual analog scale(VAS), abdominal muscle strength(AMS), lumbar flexion(LF), lumbar extension(LE).

Method: The subjects of this study weare 31 baseball players at S middle and high schools located in Seoul. They were divided into an EBST group (n=15) and an ST group (n=16). The intervention was applied for 40 minutes per each time, three times per week, for 6 weeks. Their The players¡¯ VAS, AMS, LF and LE were measured.

Results: The EBST group experienced significant changes in their VAS, AMS, LF and LE (p<0.05). The ST group also showed significant changes in their VAS, AMS, LF, LE (p<0.05). In comparison between the two groups, the EBST group¡¯s VAS, AMS, LF and LE was increased significantly more increased than those of the ST group (p<0.05).

Conclusion: Both EBST and ST were found to influence the trunk functions of athletes with lumbar pain. However, according to the result of comparison between the two groups, the EBST group¡¯s trunk functions and lumber pain increased significantly more increased than those of the ST group.
